My Lantern Festival Experience

Sometimes, it is really a privilege being a kid afterall.
Not only you can do all the things you want, the funny part is that you will never be wronged by anyone. No one can blame a little kid for his/her wrongdoings.

As I recollected the lantern festival which I spent over at Block 299 with some friends last year, the traumatized experience still strucked me hard up to this date.

The Story Begins . . .

25 September 2006, met up with Michelle, Choon Hua, Qianling, Jason, Bingsoon and Jason's friends at the badminton to spend lantern festival together. Our main objective was never to play fire, but to spend time together chatting and playing badminton. Everything was still perfect until 11pm sharp, where the lights of the badminton court were off !

No more badminton ! So the only thing we can do next is just to chit chat and crap around with one another.

Then . . . Temptation started to arise, being mesmerized by what the other kids were doing, we decided to follow suit as well. Needless to say, with all the equipments we had, like candles, lighter, matches, paper and lanterns, we decided to get the Lantern Festival mood rolling. We started to melt the candle, burn paper, even worn off shuttlecocks.

It was until the clock strucked 12plus in the night where 2 police cars came, the entire mood started to change. Few policemen with 2 fireman and 2 high ranking officers came to us and called us to squad down. Reason being : Some busybody called the police and accused us of setting fire to burn down public property.

To cut the story short, jason with his 2 other friends and me were called back to the station. Look at the entire process:

1. We were told to form a train ( like those kids in the kindergarten, playing tu-tu train. they need to place their hands on the shoulders of the person standing in front of them) and walk to the police van. (gosh we looked like some spastic retards)

2.Then when we board the van, we were chatting behind and were laughing at our folly, unfortunately the policeman in front scolded us and told us to SHUT UP !

3. Over at Sengkang NPC, we waited for such a long time before we individually get into the room for our interview ! ( haha not interview la , it's taking down of statement)

4. Finally, when we have all finished dropping down our statement ( which is already 3am), we are then allowed to leave the station.

So don't you agree that being a kid is just too wonderful ?
