Dare to dream
Today work was exceptionally different. I've got another Industrial Attachment (IA) student from Croatia who was being attached to my dept. Woah his name is Ivo and he is really amicable. He will be attached to ST Aerospace for 3 months and I guess both of us are leaving around the same time.
Woah it was really a good time chatting with him during working hours. He is currently studying at one of the universities in NYC and guess how old is him? He is only 21 and he is like half a year away to his degree. I have realised that SG males are really at a disadvantage manx. Take me for instance, by the time I complete my degree, I will be like 26 or 27 and I guess in a year or 2, i will be eligible for marriage manx. I mean I do not have an established career by that time, how am I supposed to get settled down manx? No wonder statistics show that working adults are getting involved in marriage at a very much later time than its supposed to be. This doesnt show the workaholic-ism of Singaporeans but demands of our society. Who will be in the right mind to get married without a established career?
Okay I foresee how is my life journey going to be like few years down the road. Time is battling against me, I gotta cherish the time I have now and not make any blunders anymore. Getting into sec 5 wasted 1 year of my time and I cant afford to waste anymore time.
Getting back to the topic, I realised Ivo's dad is a pilot of SIA and he is retiring in about 5 years time. I somehow sense that God has gave me opportunities to come to know of the people who are in the aviation industries. I've got a contact of a pilot who used to work in ST Aerospace few years back and amazingly he was introduced by one of my colleague, Mdm Wong, in my dept. Mdm wong gave me his email (after permission was granted by him) and asked me to contact him, but i have still yet to do so maybe due to the hectic working life.
Now Ivo's dad is a senior pilot and I guess I will have to seize every opportunity that comes along.
Its not a bad thing to have big dreams, and some have gave up those ambitious dreams because they felt it is impossible for them to fulfill that dream.
I guess what you can do is to yourself this : are you willing to take up those challenges that comes along the way in fulfilling that dream of yours?
I have always longed to be a pilot, since i was a little kid. I'm fascinated by the different fleets of aircraft whenever my parents brought me to the airport and until now, my love for aircraft supersedes every other things. i wont deny that learning/ studying pilot manuals is tough and it takes great discipline to study them but at the end of the day, I know i must know them because they are essential. So this is the struggle that most of us faced.
Will your passion be overcome by the challenges you are going through in fulfilling your dream?
If yes, then I guess to gotta reconsider what do you want in life, your career specifically. Have you found where your passion lies or are you still searching for it?
Bottomline : Follow your desire, work towards in and you will see success.
