CNY DAY 1

1st day of new year was great. This year was a special one I should say. My aunt actually booked a chalet at Changi Safra and all of us just gathered there as a family. I should really compliment on the new look of the chalets. It used to be a wooden looking bungalow, until they revamped it to because a glass house! Im serious! You are able to look into other people's chalet, but of course there are curtains! We gambled, do alot of catching up, play lumber ball and etc...

Everything seems perfect until we decided to catch this movie by Jack Neo, LOVE MATTERS
Photobucket
Before I even start to comment on the movie, here is my rating: 2/5
This movie is seriously terrible and this is indeed a terrible movie to start with during this year. Even though I detest horror movies, or cartoons, I would rather watch them than this sucky movie!

Basically this movie has no storyline !
This movie does not convey any message (unlike other Jack Neo's productions)
This movie is so lengthy and is full of crap, so baseless and senseless !

Whats more, I heard people snoring so loudly in the middle of the movie. This proofs I aint blabbering and trying all means to bring this movie down but seriously, im totally disappointed with the quality of this movie!

It has always been a green go to Jack Neo's movie but this experience I had has certainly made me reconsider whether to watch his future productions again. I swear when my sis asked me if I will be interested to catch the Fann wong's movie, I said NO without a moment of hesitation!

Please do not give me a false impression of local productions, work hard on it man!

Tmr is another long day of visitation. Gonna catch a good slp now man, pics will be posted up soon!

HUAT AR !

Lunar New Year = Yu Sheng

Yusheng is considered a symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor.

It is served as an appetizer to raise 'good luck' for the new year.In a celebration known as "lo hei" (Cantonese 撈起 or 捞起), families and friends gather around the table and, on cue, proceed to toss the shredded ingredients into the air with chopsticks while saying auspicious wishes out loud to mark the start of a prosperous new year and it's customary that the higher you toss, the greater your fortunes!

Yesterday, all 5 of us were dressed in RED and we gathered around the table for our reunion dinner. It has been a long time since we really sit down together to have dinner. All of us were busy with our own stuffs on the rest of the days.
Back to the tossing of the Yu Sheng, the hilarious thing was that, my dad, sis, bro and I have to echo after what my mom says. This is because of the fact that my mom's mandarin is better than the rest of us. So the 4 of us have echo some like parrots from the Bird Park. So we were happily shouting those auspicious wishes while tossing the yu sheng.
The yu sheng from Sushi Teh is really worth buying. The portion is really huge and they have a myriad of ingredients, like scallops, jellyfish and etc...
The yu sheng, which was only meant to be an appetiser, hit all 5 of us down that our stomach have no room for the main dishes!!!

Then all of us were sitting patiently on the couch to do a countdown. All the lights in our house were on and the windows and doors are all opened ! When the clock stoke 12mn, we were like screaming and dancing in the living room! haha, if only I took a video it !

Received the very 1st two ang baos from my parents, then off I went to my bedroom to hit the sack. Was sooo exhausted man!

Later will be a really long day. My aunt is hosting this celebration at Changi Safra. So All of the families will be gathering there.

Interestingly, CNY = Gambling

I am just gonna play small this year, hope I wont get too obsessed by it. Every year its always like that. At the end of the day when my siblings and I sit together to count the ang bao $, I realized I am always the one with lesser $. It is plainly because I always dig out $ in the toilet to gamble. haha

Alright, I better not get too lengthy. I hereby wish all of you guys a happy and prosperous NIU year !

More than words...

GONG XI FA CAI

T
ime has certainly pass us within a blink of an eye.
Its the Lunar New year again !

Last year has indeed been a tough year for everyone of us.
Natural Calamities, Terrorism, Conflict among nations, Economic Downturn etc...
As we embrace year 2009, lets hope that love continue to reigns in our lives !
A meaningful quote which I've chanced upon :
"Conflict is like cancer, early detection and treatment ensure health is being restored"
Though many speculate and confirmed that the next 2 years will be challenging, let's just hope that we will smoke this period of bad times cheerfully, with positive self-motivation and insights of what is going to come.
Some of us are graduating, some studying, some even are entering to the working society, some waiting to serve the nation.
No matter what it is, just enjoy what you are doing.

I know this blog of mine is once dead but now ALIVE AND KICKING !
All thanks to this festive season which supply me with some extra time which i can kill for my personal stuff like blogging.

Spring Cleaning is something which cannot be missed during this season, so likewise, I'm here to do some clearing of cobwebs!

Below are just some of the images which I took during the month of Dec and Jan.
There are more pics in my folder, but I will just post some of the more interesting events which took place over the last few mths.

POLY FRIENDS CAME AND GOT TIPSY
We had a class BBQ earlier on and 3 of them decided to come over to my house to drink !
2 of them seldom drink therefore they got really HYPED UP after a couple of shots.
They ended up on my bed and left me to sleep on the freezing cold marble floor !

MAKE A WISH CHRISTMAS EVENT
Together with my poly buddy, MR SLANG ( Soon Loong Ang), we went down to one of the event organised by MAKE A WISH ORGANIZATION for kids who are suffering terminal diseases like leukemia etc...
It was indeed an eye opening and fun filled event. Just seeing the kids enjoying themselves to their brim really bring joy to me. I was volunteering to mend and watch over the buffet table. Making sure that it's tidy and organised.
This organisation attracted many volunteers, and the aim of Make a Wish to the grant the wishes of the kids who are suffering terminal diseases.
I didn't regret being present for this awesome event and I hope that there will be more opportunities to such events because I believe that it shapes your character.

2008 CHRISTMAS PARTY @ MY PLACE
I housed the Christmas party once again and it turned out to be successful. Everyone was present for the party, and they brought along really good gifts (compared to the christmas celebration few years back whereby I got a children water bottle which you can hang around ur neck)
We had steamboat, then watched the all time favourite SAW 5, then gift exchange at 12am, and finally DRINKING and playing games !

2008 COUNTDOWN PARTY

We drank and drank till some of us were dead drunk and this explains why I have only 1 pic for this party.

1 STAR KAYAKING
Finally got my 1 star kayaking cert with Telvin.
The 2 day course with Water Venture was really fun. Learned a couple of essential basic skills. Even though I am the only one which capsized most of the time, I think I am also one of the faster kayak-er which can climb back to the kayak within a short time.
That idiotic Tel was like mocking me throughout the course, saying you keep capsizing and blah blah blah....
That cassanova managed to chase after a girl from the same course, despite deeming that girl is not interesting at all ! IRONIC HIM!
I was caught by surprised too !
Gonna ask more people to take the course so that we can have a kayaking trip !

BAKING RICE EARLY IN THE MORN
My sis has a christmas party @ work from 9am and she asked me to make baked rice for her. Not 1 portion, but 20 portion.
I remembered vividly that the last thing I did before getting home to baked rice was playing Guitar Hero @ Lk house, it was 4am in the morn before we went to have breakfast at MAC then get home.
I reached home at 6am and I baked those trays of rice with my eyes half opened but as I follow closely to the recipe, I knew I am never gonna doubt myself.
At the end of the day when she came back, I received compliments from her, so at least my effort weren't put to waste!
If only my eyes were fully opened at that time ........
