Sumptuous Dinner

Just came back from Clarke Quay after having a awesome dinner @ Peony Jade Restaurant.
I've heard so much about this renowned chinese restaurant, in forums, blogs, magazines and even my food bible, THE MAKANSUTRA FOOD GUIDE!! My uncertainty was reaffirmed when I was warmly welcomed by the medals and trophies which were displayed on a antique shelf at the entrance ! They've won quite a number of awards and the most recent one was 2009, so I'm pretty convinced that the food MUST be really GOOD !

CANT WAIT TO SAVOUR THEM ALL !!!

The price wasn't that exorbitant to what I've expected considering the fact that the dishes served were all mouth-watering ! What we had were fish maw soup, steam fish, soft shell crab w/ floss, pork rib, broccoli, perking duck wrapped in crepe, pork belly, fried rice and lastly dessert.

I should really consider myself fortunate to have really good superiors and boss! I often questioned myself, " Am I serving my NS?"
Apart from the pathetic pay, I guess I felt almost like a civilian holding a part time job. I was given the welfare that I needed and most importantly, I'm treated like everybody else, RESPECT !
My boss and supervisors treat me like some one of their own, we cracked jokes, we burst into laughter, we slog, we chill..... I guess there is no reason why I should be complaining anything about work.

I felt a lil paiseh that I've been getting free meals. 1st was Soup Restaurant, then tony roma, buffet lunch and now peony restaurant. OMG !!! Who gets such treatment? I guess its only me !

I always believe in this: " when people treat you good, you must not disappoint them", this is one of my core motto which I carry with me since young. People who know me well will know this, I never disappoint my teachers, my close friends or anybody whom gives me the respect I deserve, the faith in me and the effort in grooming me. Not forgetting my parents who always gives me my freewill choices, they don't instill what they think it's right for me but allowing me to decide what is right for myself. I guess they got the right formula in bringing up a kid, and I'm proud of them ! I will work hard and make them proud !!

Hmm its time for shower..
Need to really catch up with my sleep and look forward to the weekends !!!
Alright gd night peeps !!!

Eventful weekend

Just back from liquid kitchen @ Serangoon Gardens!
Had a great time catching 2 hot favourites teams, man u & Liverpool, heading on one another!
Coupled with a pint of erdinger beer and some snacks to spice up the atmosphere. What more can you ask for, it's just HEAVENLY!!
The entire 90mins was just so amazingly thrilling!! 2 teams played their best but sometimes shit happens, so Liverpool fans out there don't be dismayed, do it again next season...
I now declare that liquid kitchen has topped my "Night's Hangout Places". I am really fond of their cosy ambience and excellent service except for 1 staff which I thought he shld be forgiven, perhaps he is new! Nonetheless I would still like to share this:

Uncle:may I take ur order?
Me: yes pls! I would like to have spicy drumlets, wedges...
Uncle: ok sure, anything else?
Me: oh wait!! (mumble to my buddies if we shld take the platter)
Uncle: you shld try the platter, it's nice and is more than enough for 4pax. You may skip the drumlets & wedges because it's too much!!
Me: hmmmmm... So what's in the platter??
Uncle: OHHH!!! There are MANY MANY things inside..
Me: (I paused and thought if he is going to mention what exactly are in the platter )
*after few seconds, after a silent pause*
Uncle: ohhh the platter got topshell, wedges, spring rolls and a few more, ard 6 dishes la..
Me: (feeling agitated ) alright, give me the platter and cancel my other orders!

All of us felt cheated when platter was served! There are only 5 cheesesticks, 5 springrolls, half serving of wedges, topshell salad and 4 drumlets! It cost us 39 for goodness sake, it's too exorbitant!! ** this happened to our 1st visit last night !
Today we wised up and order ala carte which has a bigger portion and it's definitely cheaper!! I still don't blame the uncle, apart from his blunders, I thought he was okay!

*** Cognitive dissonance***
alright tmr it's another working day and I need to slog hard to chill hard during weekends!! I nned to chill wisely too, and to be frugal until my next pay, to remain driven to save up for my 4k dslr and my Korea trip next winter!!! Buck up Fred!!!!

I'm sleepy esp after drinking, time to hit the sack!!
Gd night peeps!!!

I've made it !

Photobucket

Started the day off with 16km run, organized by North-East CDC, at Paris Ris Park early in the morning with my buddy ! I snoozed my way through (as usual) even though I've set 3 alarm timings on my iphone. Reason being, the night before, we had mj till 2.30am despite knowing the fact that we gotta wake up by 5.30am and leave hse by 6.15am to reach just in time for the Flag off @ 6.30am. Eventually, we were late, 11mins late to be exact. We had no time for proper stretching and result our muscles to be cramped up and stiff after the entire race. This run was really good. I started the run sluggishly but I end it well. I was personally satisfied to have completed the entire race and the next race up for me will be the 25km run held next May. Will be looking forward to it but at the same time, I need to train really hard for it.

Had a fructuous day today !!

Oh yeah, it was my BIRTHDAY yesterday !! haha, I'm realizing that i'm not young anymore! Gosh, 22nd birthday ! Anyway tnks to all who has sent me their bday greetings thru sms or fb comments, it was really heartening to have received those greetings and wishes. Not forgetting the prezzies too !! Thank you so much. This birthday was made simple, just a good dinner with friends and family. Will upload the pics, junwei took at Mellben Seafood Restaurant, which offers one of the best CRABS in Singapore.. YUMMY !!

Finally, the compilation of pics I took over at Night Safari that night. I took more videos than pics actually due the the low light environment. That reminds me that I need to remain driven to save $$ to get my DSLR during the middle of the year !! HAHA, its a whopping 3k but im sure its a good investment !

Time to hit the sack, its monday again ! DAMN IT, but nonetheless, gotta stay positive.

Great night peeps !

those days

Today is yet another mundane day. I shall not lament anything on work today, its just the same things I do over and over again. Yeah, I received a good news today, I'm tasked to join a team for patrolling. It's a once per week commitment but nonetheless I'm still pretty excited and have been always looking forward to it !

Basically there are 3 important roles:
1) Escort accused to Court
2) Escort accused to Hospital to receive the necessary treatment
3) Patrolling

WOAH !! I just can't wait for that day to come.

Chasing suspect, pin him down, execute a wrist lock on him, cuff him and bring him back.............

** WAKE UP** woah that was a melodramatic thought that caught me too sudden. On second thought,I felt anything may happen anytime. Shall not elaborate too much on that else this entry will eat 2hr of my time and I should invest more on my sleep instead. I've been slping less than 6 hrs per night, waking up like a zombie with horrendous-looking dark circles and a somber mood. A terrible way to start the day with.

check out this video man. Woah it reminisce us of those days when we are much much younger, doesn't it ? Era is always changing, and so do us. Most of our choices and perceptions change over time. I remembered buying ORIGINAL CDs of backstreet boys, westlife, S Club 7 from CD Rama. Times changed and all you need is just a right URL and you will get your songs in just a click away. HAHA, "uphold the law". oops !!!!

TIME WAIT FOR NO MAN

This video serves as a strong caveat that, time will pass you by that swiftly even before you realised it. I believed the last time I heard this song was at least 6 - 7 years back. So I would like to encourage, in order to avoid disappointments and regrets in life, do what you aspire to do. Do not reach a stage in life where you regret for not doing that particular thing that you have always wanted to do.

I'm tired, time to hit the sack !!
Gd Night !!!

What's your Aspiration ?

Today, I was terribly infected with the "Monday Blues" Syndrome. That usually happens after a well-deserving weekend, and the next moment you realized there are piles and piles of shit waiting for you on ur desk on Monday morning. To palliate the raging emotions which were swirling within myself, I chose to take things one at a time, doing it at my own pace.

This is how you may want to deal with such situations which you commonly encounter:
1) Go to the cafeteria. 2 slices of bread and a hot pipping cup of tea just do wonders.
2) Take a breather at intervals so that you do not overstretch yourself and putter your time away.
3) Stock up healthy snacks like nuts, dark chocolate or fruit bar to munch on.
4) Grinding away at your job may not give you the edge u think you will. Reserve 20mins to sit quietly with your eyes closed, away from any stimulus. By doing that, you are giving ur brain a breather from the non stop processing.

Most importantly, complete what is of you by the end of the day, because tmr has its own workload and problems.

Oh, and today I had an interesting conversational topic with one my colleague. We were sharing abt ASPIRATION. The word itself is too big alone, i guess what matter most is not merely just sharing abt what your aspiration is but to work towards it through actions. Easier said than done.

Photobucket

My aspiration has always been to be a Pilot. It is my passion which has been developed along the years and is still burning intensely within me. I remembered when I was younger, the 1st place which I would usually pestered my parents to take me to when we visited the airport was the " Viewing Gallery". It thrills me,even up to this date, to see a huge giant bird above my head. And during the setbacks of my life, the 1st place to take refuge from all the pessimism, was the airport. I recollected that at one incident, I had a really bad quarrel with my parents and I decided to spend my night at the airport. I guess this shows the great connection between me and the airport.

Alright back to the term "Action speaks louder than Words". This term triggered me in the midst of conversation i had with my colleague. I have been ruminating; "what have i done to work towards my aspiration?" ; and I was intrigued with the answer which I have been holding on all this while.

"By reading books on aviation occasionally, watching videos on YouTube, or flying the flight simulator wasn't sufficient" i thought viscerally.
Though you are right in saying that, these are simple and small actions, but hey CONSISTENCY is the gist of it.
Here is a simple mathematical expression:

COMPLACENCY = LACK OF CONSISTENCY

We shouldn't be resting on laurels. If you think you are good enough, why not challenge urself to a higher level?
This ignite a spark in me and I'm determined to go all out to fulfill what I really want to see myself 5-8 yrs down the road. I got all my guides on aviation printed out, credit goes to FAA, and I think it's time to read up.
Last but not least, before i even end my lengthy entry, i shall leave you a quote from the bible:

"its not how u start that matters, but how you end"

my blog says : " I'm alive yet again"

Photobucket

Formerly it was left on the shelves for a couple of days and I thought it wasn't an issue
Subsequently, it was left to collect layers and layers of dust due to irregularities, and i thought all i needed to do was just to clear the cobwebs.
BUT now, I just realized a resuscitation was needed.
I've gone through a gruesome battle against time, to bring my blog back to life.

I took me 4hrs of my time and my inquisitive mind to refresh myself with the complexities of HTML. Handling codes and HTML used to be my forte but not anymore, I guess the term "Practice makes Perfect" has to be improvised and set in place.

Alright, i think i should start blogging tmr, cause i lack inspiration now !!!
